LOTE Libraries Direct can provide you with high quality binding services to increase the shelf-life of your collection. Depending upon your needs, binding services can be provided by our local or international partners.

Cataloguing Services

LOTE Libraries Direct offers customers professional cataloguing services through our partner, Zenith Library Technical Services. Below is an overview of the services provided by Zenith.

Zenith provides a cataloguing and shelf-ready service for books and other library collection items. We offer a fast turnaround for competitively prices, high quality services. Being independent, we can work with you and any publisher or library supplier. Our policy is to provide a cataloguing and shel-ready service to libraries, no matter where acquisitions are sources or purchased.

Our services provide for:

• Books, DVDs, CDs, audio visual tapes, kits, music photographs
• Regular purchases, clearing backlogs, grants, special projects or donations
• Materials in any language

Cataloguing service options:

• Cataloguing to the requirements of each library, generally using the current editions of AACR2, Dewey, LCSH, LCNA, Libraries Australia Authorities and MARC 21.
• Original, upgrading and copy cataloguing directly into Libraries Australia
• Several options of record delivery including adding holdings to Libraries Australia
• Remote cataloguing directly to client library management system, subject to high-speed data link
• Customised tags when supported by client library management system
• Transliteration and translation of non-English languages
• Chinese script records
• Multicultural items returned with Libraries Australia Record ID (PPN)

Shelf ready service

The Zenith customised service ranges from spine label and projector to full covering with stamps, stickers, security tags, complete re-casing of kits, audio or other materials including the resizing of covers.

Items received direct from suppliers for cataloguing or shelf-ready service can be checked against invoice for receipt and condition.
